A little bit of history
An app was born
After a conversation with Tom Courts, a butcher in Cowdenbeath, an app was born. Tom asked us to build something to manage his Christmas orders from an iPad. We put on our thinking caps, identified a gap in the market and decided that Christmas orders was only the beginning.
The first Christmas
While the all singing, all dancing app wasn't completely finished, Tom used the app at Christmas to capture his customer database. This would prove handy come next Christmas.
The big reveal
After some intensive development work the big reveal of The Butchers App was made at the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association biannual show in Perth in May.
The launch of the customer loyalty system
We launched our customer loyalty system which allows you to track what a customer spends throughout the year and offer them rewards for their continued business.
We joined the club
After a successful outing at the SFMTA trade show we joined as a corporate member, allowing us to support the excellent work that the SFMTA do to help all those involved in the Meat Industry throughout Scotland.
Our second Christmas
Our first proper Christmas was in 2013, with all of our customers using The Butchers App to process their Christmas orders. Everything went smoothly with one of customers saying that using the app was the highlight of his Christmas!
Voucher system and enhanced customer profiles
We launched the voucher system and an enhanced version of the customer profile. This allows you to generate a voucher with a special offer or a discount, which can then be tracked all the way to redemption to allow you to see how effective your offer is. The enhanced customer profile allows you to see at a glance the history of your interactions with a specific customer and send them a personalised SMS.
Our biggest release ever
September saw the launch of our biggest release ever, with many new features being added including:
- Realtime monitor
- Improvements to offline functionality
- Dispatch notices
- Delivery Route planning and tracking
- Report improvements
Our third Christmas
Christmas is the busiest time of year for all our customers, we had another trouble free Christmas with thousands of orders being captured, planned and fulfiled.
Launch of the visual product editor and user interface improvements
We believe in continually improving The Butchers App and March saw the launch of our visual product editor and over 20 tweaks and improvements to our already friendly user interface.
We attended the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association biannual show in Perth, we connected with our existing customers and managed to gain new customers.
We attended the Meatup 2015 trade show at the National Argicultural and Exhibition Center in Stoneleigh Park, we made some excellent connections and gained new business from the event.
